Curriculum Evaluation

The purpose of curriculum evaluation is to ensure that the Faculty is applying the curriculum as it is designed. This will be achieved through:


This refers to studies done by Faculty members including:

  1. Curriculum evaluation which done by the Curriculum Committee to ensure its validity and its consistency with the international development in medical education and adopting modern teaching methods.
  2. Examinations: This is done through revision of exams construction to make sure that it’s a success method of student’s evaluation with discussion of exam results and comparing them with the previous results and with exam results from other similar colleges from inside and outside the country.
  3. Student’s opinion: Students should have a chance to give their feedback and evaluation on the curriculum and the teaching methods.
  4. Graduates follow up: This should be done by:
    • Revising the reports of consultants during house-officer training.
    • Revising the results of exam for permanent registration in the Sudan Medical Council.
    • The graduate’s opinion about the curriculum.
    • Feedback from families and the community on the graduate’s career.
    • Reports from employers (Federal Ministry of Health, State Government, Universities, Police and Military Health institutes).
    • Opinion of Doctors Union and High Education Union.
Peer evaluation:

This is achieved by invitations of colleagues from other institutes from inside and abroad to take their opinion about the educational activities.

Accreditation process:

The Faculty should revise the Curriculum to fulfill the criteria of accreditation put by the Sudan Medical Council (SMC) and that of the Ministry of High Education.

External evaluation:

Faculty should look forward to fulfill the criteria of accreditation put by World Federal of Medical Education (WFME) and World Health Organization (WHO).
